Accomplished

So, today I made dinner for my family. I was going to make it yesterday, so that everyone could be at the table, but Katey, Tiffany, and Mom had to go to a play so that Katey and Tiffany could have their concert report. I made smothered chicken, which is chicken breasts soaked in barbecue sauce, with two bacon slices on top, and smothered with cheese. I got this oh-so-delectable-recipe from my young women's leader, Sister Becci Kholer. Who is an amazingly good cook. I wish and dream that she could cater my wedding. That's how good she is. I also made minty carrots courtesy of Carolanne, which are also delectable and easy to make. Tiffany made jello, albeit with a little help from Mom, and Mom cut up a pineapple. I discovered that even making two out of four dishes for a meal is waaaay harder than I thought it would be. This is because we usually just have a main dish, and a single dish is pretty easy. But anyway, when dinner was done and on the table I got a proud feeling of accomplishment. But I still wouldn't want to do it more than once a week.

Here are some pictures of my meal:

If anyone really wants the recipes I'll post them.

  1. haha. Turning out a whole meal gets easier with practice. I must say my mouth is watering. BBQ chicken and fresh pineapple are a perfect combo. Way to go (half a year later! I will try to check more often!)
